I created this site to help you find a wealth of God’s wisdom in creativity & wholesome, independent living. I hope you stick around to learn you can handle the complexities of this life, find some great products to help you manage it and connect to some great people along the way! My blog started on 8/28/22. As a new blogger, please be sure to drop me a note to let me know you’re listening. As an introvert, knowing you’re listening, will help me be sure to post regularly!
“First and Foremost, Giving Honor to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ”
It’s the cliche statement when you’re in front of a public audience accepting an award, right? But it does set the stage for having the right perspective about intentions and this is that moment for me. As you get to know me, let me set the right stage for all I do! Intentions are just about all we can know from people because we’re all sinners. We’re sinners by nature so we’re going to miss the mark, mess up and will be out right wrong sometimes; only to discover years down the road how you thought, was not God’s way at all.
Prayerfully we are all on the journey of acknowledging our insufficiencies. I am. The quicker we do, the sooner we can get in the way of goodness. My intention in all that I do is to glorify God with my life. I can only do that by living according to His word and living a surrendered life to his will.
College Days
I gave my life to Christ when I was in college. I was going through some unbearable things back home in Los Angeles, California and I knew God enough to know he could have my whole entire life.
There was just no, “being okay” with what was going on in my life so I was 1000% on -“here you can have it!” Little did I know that was the recipe for operation “get filled with the Holy Ghost.” There I was, in my 4th year of school at Howard University, becoming a brand new creature.
My college life was amazing! I met great people, did impactful work as a member of the student body, became a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, dated my first boyfriend, traveled, learned to live as an adult and took every drop of education my professors poured into me as a Theatre Arts major.

The time I spent in college enriched my life so much that I wouldn’t want to go back if given the chance. Being in your 20s is serious fun! It’s also a time where you create life changing consequences. It’s filled with moments of firsts. First major purchases, first time on your own, first time making life altering decisions. There are enough “firsts” to create such a high amount of stress that it could make any person give up. Becoming a well balanced, functional adult is no easy process!
Beyond College
I made a good run of my college career and went on to work in entertainment on stage, in front and behind the camera. I’ve grown to truly enjoy most, directing, in the theatre and film space. As a 5th generation native of Pasadena, Ca. I have committed my time and effort to ensuring my creative impact flourishes there through Davis Inspiration Studios since 2019.
- LOVE: was rough until my husband Jay showed up in 2008. You’ll hear a lot about him! I was engaged twice and have learned a great deal about meeting the husband you’re called to God’s way. August, 2022 we’ve been married for 10 years! Read more about waiting until marriage in my book: The Woman’s Survival Guide to Waiting: 5 Keys to Wisdom in Waiting Until Marriage
- MOTHERHOOD: started for me in 2014 and again in 2017. I’ve learned what it means to survive Black Maternal Mortality. There is no reason I should be here with what I have survived. It is a blessing to mother these brilliant little girls who steal all the moments I freely give them.
- CAREER: is so multifaceted. Through my life work, my mission is to solve the “starving artist” dilemma. To do that means that I have a very diverse background between the creative and financial worlds. I focus part of my career on life planning: I am a licensed insurance broker, invest in real estate and have a strong administrative background. However, I am also called to the arts. I am a film director who is also a triple threat. I hold a BFA in Theatre Administration from Howard University. Without singing, dancing and acting-I’m just sucking up the air without purpose. All in all, through my life, I make sure God gets to use every inch of his creation!
- MINISTRY: started formally for me during the pandemic. Although my faith was nurtured through my childhood and early adult life under the ministry of Chuck Singleton, in 2021 I was licensed and ordained by Amos Johnson. When I look at how multifaceted my career is, only God can fulfill the mission he’s laid on my heart. I serve over the children’s ministry at Perfecting Home Church and am excited about leading youth to a personal relationship with Christ!
